The Therapy for Black Girls Podcast is a weekly conversation with Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, a Licensed Psychologist in Atlanta, Georgia, about all things mental health, personal development, and all the small decisions we can make to become the best possible version of ourselves.
Some studies suggest that as many as 60% of Black girls experience a sexual assault by the age of 18 so sadly many of us and our loved ones have been touched in some way by childhood sexual abuse. Today, I am joined by Jessica Lang, LMFT. Jessica and I chatted about some of the common concerns that come up for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, what treatment might look like, how to deal if your child comes to you with a report of abuse, and she shared her favorite resources.
