The Therapy for Black Girls Podcast is a weekly conversation with Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, a Licensed Psychologist in Atlanta, Georgia, about all things mental health, personal development, and all the small decisions we can make to become the best possible version of ourselves.
Today's episode is an On the Couch Session with Nova Bordelon from the hit OWN show, Queen Sugar. For this episode I am joined by Shena Tubbs. Shena is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate in Houston, TX. She specializes in treating women with intimacy disorders, trauma, and sexually compulsive behaviors or addictions. Shena and I chatted about some of the concerns that might bring Nova to therapy, how the Bordelon family history adds perspective to Nova's concerns, some of the techniques she might use with her in therapy, and she shared some of her favorite resources in case you might have similar concerns.
